— In the Studio : Doors —

In late December we spent some time designing our vinyl signage for the window in our front door, we are super happy with it and it certainly is the welcome image we were shooting for.

Once you enter the barn, our studio is to the left and another studio is to the right. So as not to be confusing we decided an official studio door should be next. (It had just been an open door way.) Being that we are in the old beautiful barn we figured we should find something that suited its look. So we headed to The Loading Dock in search of a solution. Not too long after weeding through some very dingy and not so interesting doors, we found our winner. A perfect pair. And for $40 they were ours!

We brought them back, installed a track so they could slide, sanded them down a bit to bring back some life to them and then had some fun with hand-painting our name on them. We found a wonderful inspiration image from a random google search, made a stencil, bought some acrylic paints and got to painting. We couldn’t be happier with them.

— In the Studio: Day 365 —

After many years of honing the craft of letterpress I took the leap and bought my very own, and now very beloved, press. Yesterday marked our 365th day together. And so beings the annual snapshot of the nifty counter. That right there, 42290, is exactly how many prints have been pulled so far. Hopefully next year that counter rolls back over to zero at least once.
